Captain Rafe -XA80032 1/12 Palm Hero Series

The time has finally come to get my hands on the DID Captain Rafe figure from Palm Hero Series, and I wanted to write this review in case you still have doubts and to finally encourage you to get this highly recommended figure.

The DID brand is slowly consolidating its trajectory with this relatively new 6-inch line, which for some, including myself, brings to our favorite scale almost all the features we've admired in the 12-inch figures.

Any miniatures fan will spend hours admiring the figure's excellent finish and presentation as well as the detailed accesories; action figure collectors will enjoy the ease with which this little mannequin can be posed realistically. Meanwhile, World War II experts will be pleasantly surprised by the fidelity of the equipment and accessories. For me, its small size also brings back memories of my childhood and my beloved Madelman figures.

Unboxing

From the packaging, you can see the quality and attention to detail put into each product developed, and upon opening the box, I felt genuine admiration for what I had before me. I was prepared to find a certain distance between the final product and the prototype shown on the manufacturer's website, but the truth is that the work carried out by DID has managed to bridge this gap, producing a figure that, although mass-produced, reveals the care and attention to detail worthy of a handmade work of art.

As if that weren't enough, this size opens up the possibility of having vehicles, something unthinkable in larger scales. Since the figures are smaller, you can have twice as many in the same space.

The figure comes with the following accessories:

4 Palms with dark brown gloves X1 pair

The second look - full equipment

Captain Rafe can be displayed in different configurations. In my unboxing below, you can see the two I like the most. The first one is in work clothes but at rest, and the second is fully equipped for taking flight. Of course, this second one, with all the accessories properly placed, is much richer and more impressive. The remaining accessories, those from the first look (garrison cap, belt, pistol, sunglasses), will be used to create a companion for whom I will make the flight suit and a leather jacket.

On the downside, I missed the leather jacket and, why not, the officer's cap, which in my opinion would have completed the set, bringing it a little closer to his 1/6 scale brother.

This, among others, will be my proposal for the survey the brand is conducting to choose the products they will launch next year. You can enter the survey until September 15th, with prizes for participating.

  Good Luck!!!
